My friend recently told me that Windows is developing a Boot Camp for Mac!!!!!!!!!!! Is this true????
Boot Camp on Windows???
uuhhh... ask your friend.
i doubt it...
Pure rumors. Really, what could Microsoft gain from this? I can see why Apple does, they get hardware sales. If you're going to buy a new computer, why not buy one that is on par with the latest x86 machines, and run both OS X and Windows. Microsoft gets the sales for Windows, but doesn't sell computers, so what really would they gain?
It's impossible. I'll explain why if anyone wants to know...
i would like to know y its impossible, liquidplasmaflow.
Apple knows what hardware its operating system runs on (i.e. the hardware in a Mac Pro, iMac, or Mac mini.) therefore, it can make Windows drivers for just these components very easily. If Microsoft were going to make some sort of assistant to run Mac OS X on any PC, they would have to release Mac OS X drivers for literally thousands of devices for them to work properly on the Mac operating system. This is essentially impossible.
damn...i rly hoped there was a chance there...
i think its not entirely correct,
microsoft doesnt have to deal with apple drivers,
they can just release the utility to run osx on PC but the responsibility of making sure osx runs smoothly on pc should be on apple since they r the makers of osx,
so microsoft wont have to really dealt with the driver issues, besices MS anyway doesnt sit n develop drivers for every hardware device out there,
so i think if this happens, the hardware manufaturers would themselves provide u with drivers to run their hardware on Pc based osx.
but a valid point raised here is probably why tis wont happen...
WHAT DOES MICROSOFT GAIN OUT OF IT ?
on the contrary they RISK loosing their market to OSX,
why would anyone even buy windows then, slowly osx would eat into the windows marketplace,
since the only thing sstoppin most appl lovers from buy macs is the HARDWARE, EXPENSIVE HARDWARE.
as someone here said, apple are doing this because they want to tap into the average windows user market,so that ppl buy their hardware and still are assured that they can run their favourite os on it.
if at all it happens MS wont be doin it,apple will do it only if they want osx to become a more known and popular OS,but then ppl will stop buyin their (expensive)hardware,so this scenario is possible if apple is earning heavily from software, and they are tryin to become a sotware only company,WHICH IS NOT HAPPENING !!!
it could be done before but now you cant really run mac osx on a pc....only if your lucky ![]()
