The Seven Phases of Owning an iPod

should be "a iPod"

I've owned my 2nd Gen for almost 4 1/2 years now. I would put myself at state 4. I've lost it once, I never let it out of my sight again. Still no permanent hearing damage. New iPods since the color screens suck (Apple did a crappy job with porting Aqua to the iPod and the larger screens make it look goofy). Only looking to upgrading to the 4th Gen (click-wheel, B&W screen).

I think the author got it right up till the last few.

My iPod final iPod phases went more like... Battery dies.... Files get corrupted... Hard drive dies... Give up and lose interest... don't feel a need for an iPod anymore.

should be "a iPod"

really? you think so? would you say, "i have a instant message" or "i have an instant message"?

I think it would be the same as "looking for this icons".

papi? :o

I figure I'm in phase 6

Phase 6... I'm almost ready to chuck mine into the trash.

Warranty is over and guess what... battery is already taking a sh!t on me and the click wheel is becoming less responsive.

There will be no phase 7.

I'll go back to ripping tracks onto CD's and using a portable CD player before I purchase another iPod.

Pffft... I just carry my wax cylinder phonograph around, uphill both ways. I scrawl my mp3's manually from itunes to the cylinders using the awl on my swiss army knife.

You'd have to be CRAZY to use batteries when you can just turn a crank:

You know, that reminds me of one time on TechTV (before they became the G4 crap), on either Call for Help or The Screen Savers, I know Leo Laporte was the interviewer (GOOD JOB GETTING RID OF ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY KNOW TECHNOLOGY AND ARE NOT THERE FOR THE T&A G4!), they brought a guy (he was an older guy) on to talk about how audio works, and he brought in a phonograph, with a drum to explain how it worked. The guy was so nervous, you can tell by how much his hands were shaking. He was talking about the drum, and showing it, then all of a sudden, the drum tumbles out of his hands, drops off screen and you can hear it shatter on the ground. The guy was is disbelief. It took him a few seconds, then he let out a subtle "shit" (the "s" one), clear over the waves, non-bleeped. He then started to say out of guilt, "that was one of a kind". I don't think they kept him on air much longer than that. Poor guy.

... The end.

I was so excited about my ipod and then I stopped caring.

And then I installed rockbox, and I carry it everywhere. (I play pokemon on it)

#428780

why should it be "a ipod" over "an ipod"

i would think the latter follows english grammar properly.
