i just installed glx, and now it actually works, i just want to configuring the hotkeys, anybody know how to do that?
Configuring glx
what hotkeys?
* Switch windows = Alt + Tab
* Arrange and View All Windows = F12 turns on or off; clicking a window will zoom it to the front
* Switch desktops on cube = Ctrl + Alt + Left/Right Arrow
* Switch desktops on cube - with active window following = Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Left/Right Arrow
* Rotate cube manually = Ctrl + Alt + left-click
* Make window translucent/opaque = currently only possible with the "transset" utility
* Zoom-in once = Super-key right-click
* Zoom-in manually = Super-key + wheel mouse up
* Zoom-out manually = Super-key + wheel mouse down
* Move window = Alt + left-click
* Snap Move window (will stick to borders) = Ctrl + Alt + left-click
* Resize window = Alt + right-click
those are supposed to be the hotkeys, but for some reason it's not working for me, if i press alt+tab, or anything with alt it moves the active window to the next desktop. i have to manually change which desktop i'm on; the hotkeys don't work
got any ideas?
you mean xgl. i suggest using beryl as your window manager.

i was wondering however which is better:
aiglx
xgl
nvidia compozit
i'm in the process of reinstalling linux, so i don't mind changing from xgl to aiglx or nvidia compizit

Go with aiglx. As far as I know, technically:
1.
-Xgl is a Xorg fork, which replaces the whole X server
-Aiglx is a Xorg extension and can be (un)loaded as your wishes
2.
-Xgl is supported by Novell
-Aiglx is supported by everyone
3.
-Xgl delegates some functions to Mesa libraries and doesn't require drivers (often proprietary) supporting specific extensions
-Aiglx delegates everything to drivers, so driver and video card role are central matters
4.
-Xgl runs upon a runnign X server, so two graphical servers are running in the same moment
-Aiglx is a simple extension and doesn't weigh down X

what you think about the nvidia compozite+beryl?
someone recommended it to me but i couldn't find anything about it, i don't even know if it will work correctly on my computer.
Any suggestions?
I dont really know much about it but i think its still in its early stages. Heres a good wiki on installing aiglx:

Actually XGL is going to be discontinued, since AIGLX is now built-in in Xorg.
-If you want a stable desk, the way to go now is AIGLX+Official Compiz
-If you want the latest bleeding edge desk you should go AIGLX+Beryl
Also i recommend you Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft

My Beryl desktop is rock solid, not even one crash since I installed Ubuntu edgy three weeks ago.
And yes go with AIGLX because nvidia drivers still have some issues but try them maybe you don't have any problems at all.
