What is the point of replying to spam threads?

Why do some members think its neat to post in these threads, do they not realize when they post in them, it advertises them even more than they should. Simply report them and wait for someone to come along and remove them.

I tried reporting twice in the past, as a matter of fact just yesterday about those rampage of spam thread (regarding which Timan is talking about in this thread)

Anyway, both the times by the times I wrote my message on report page and hit submit, The thread was already closed/deleted.

It's happened twice with me... and bloody mods here are too fast.

I have already warned people about this and i thought i was clear but apparently some people never learn.
