TB Calendar for AveScripter 1.0.7.1

Hi there -

this is for the latest version of AveScripter (1.0.7), which has just been released.

You can get it here:

http://avedesk.philc.ca/modules/PDdownload...hp?cid=5&lid=31

--------------

This desklet originally was made to show alarms set by another desklet - hence a totally useless name... ;)

Inbetween it's a nice "standalone" desklet, which...

- will show (repeatable) alarms of a specific day when hovering with your mouse pointer over this day (desklet sublabel)

- will show public holidays and name them when hovering with your mouse pointer over these days (desklet label)

- can mark days with alarms and public holidays on the calendar

- is easy skinable (see below), skins can be applied in the "Calendar Options" (Rightclick desklet), also possibility of horizontal/vertical calendars

- skins can also be "modified" by hiding their background, weekdays or year images (Calendar Options)

- will play a sound and pop up a window with a message of your choice at alarm time - this can also be disabled

- alarms can be set repeatable on a daily/weekly/monthly/yearly/quaterly base or on an intervall that can be changed every time

- alarms and public holidays can be edited

- alarms can be deleted easily as well

- can be varied in size, rotated, alpha blended or colorized via AveDesk "desklet properties"

Preview and download here:

I'll upload it at avedesk.org as soon as people state that it's halfway bugfree...

I have it in use for a while and didn't find any anoying ones for me - but this might be just cause I designed it for my way of using it...

I didn't put too much effort in making skins for it - I just use it with the default one -

but therefore I made it easy skinable in the hope someone else might do the job for me and I then can use it... :D

Have a few recurring errors resulting in calendar not rendering days. Some of the context menu functions aren't active also. Other wise it is looking pretty slick.

#427634

Oh no...

Got the prob:

When making the desklet I already did set an alarmlist to test it -

the fault appears because the list is empty...

Will update it soon -

For now, all you have to do is:

-----------------------------------

Go to "My Documents", Rightclick, make a "New text document" and

rename it to "MyAveAlarms.txt".

Then copy this line into it:

:(

#427722

Wow, amazing work!

#427729

Thanks a lot! :D

I released an update at the link above, now it should work without problems even if the alarm list is empty...

(At least I hope so)

By the way -

Strange words floating up when hovering over a day is due to the public holidays being the bavarian ones for now...

As public holidays differ widely depending from state, country, ... I only did a list for myself ;)

Hope you won't find any new bugs! :)

#427918

I haven't tried it, but really nice work. :)

#427935

exelente works, but calendar options dont work for me, a bug or my problem?

#428192

thx for this. when i r-click and select calendar options, i get this:

13 Microsoft VBScript runtime error

Type mismatch: '[string: "yes"]' Line:176 Column:1

-------------------------------

13 Microsoft VBScript runtime error

Type mismatch: '[string: "yes"]' Line:176 Column:1

-------------------------------

yes, it does it twice for one attempt.

thx again!

Hi there -

I think I found the bug,

don't know why it worked for me (I set the layer visibility to "yes" instead of "true").

Again, new update available...

Sigh - sorry for the bad start...

#428231

that fixed it, thx! 2 things:

1) you've done some of the most amazing desklets ever, so no need to apologize.

2) that vertical calendar has to be one of the fugliest desklets EVER!! yikes!!!!!

#428232

Thewer, no need to apologize pal, exelente work and thankx a lot

#428235

thewere i have a q? for you, i set time to do a test but its not working, this works with A.M. P.M. or 24Hs?

#428236

alarms dont works for me, i set up 12Hs and 24Hs on windows but dont work, please help

EDIT_1: pardom me Shmengie, it will not happen again.

EDIT_2: i cant solve this problem. please help me :-(

#428242

FFIH: please stop double/triple posting. use the edit button. a mod will come through here and rip you a new one...

#428244

Hi there -

the alarm time should show up in your system time format, so when choosing "set new alarm", you should see a dialog with - depending on your country

15.11.2006 08:00:00

15/11/2006 08:00:00 etc. as default to change

This is of course a bit difficult question to answer, as a lot of countries have different time formats and I could test only mine... :(

But if you leave the format showing up in this window, it should work...

Otherwise would you please post the "default" showed in the pop up window here?

And, after settting an alarm, right click the desklet, choose desklet properties and go to "AveScripter Error Log" and copy/paste the text shown also?

This could help me to find a possible bug...

Thanks for your help! :)

#428406

my default pop up for you pal, and i set my clock on 12Hs style i testit too on 24Hs style. dont work for me

edit_1: some errors on aveScripter Log

Hi there again -

O.k. I have to look into the code, never thought there would be a time format showing "a.m." or so...

What happens if you keep the time the way it is (just press return)?

Normally (if it's past 8a.m.) as soon as you've set the alarm, the alarm window should pop up as it's a past one...

Before that, rightclick the desklet and choose "edit alarms" and delete the old entries in the list - maybe it's just getting stuck, cause there are old tries in the list it can't read...

If no window pops up, what happens, if you just delette the " a.m." at the end of the default?

Sorry to bother you with these stuff, but as I said, I'm not sure what kind of time formats exist out there... :(

The AveScripter Error log only shows a fault of the "delete an alarm" function -

is the error list longer?

#428572

if i keep the time like you said (just return) nothing happens

i delete all in edit alamrs before but its the same

i delete a.m or p.m. on the default but its the same too

#428574

sorry i haven't jumped in sooner...the alarms do not work for me either. just nothing happens.

#428576

Hi again -

Sorry for the late reply, but I'm afraid I find time only at weekends at the moment... :(

@shmengie:

What kind of error do you get if you try to set a new alarm?

Oh - and you can hide the background of the vertical calendar ;)

I only did a quick back to try if vertical works - as said I hope the skinning input will come from the outside ;)

Well, at least if I ever get this thing running... :(

#428796

i don't get an error. nothing happens. nothing!

#428838

Hi -

that's strange...

I'll have a closer look on it on Sunday or Monday, won't find time for it before I'm afraid... :(

I really wouldn't have thought that it's so difficult to do an "international" desklet...

#428855

thewer i have more research for you pal.

every day at 24hs or 12 a.m a windows apear on my desk (not on calendar, in the midle on my first monitor) , "alarm error"

at this moment i dont have any alamrs

#428863

Errr -

MIGHT have found it:

It seems like the option "Hide alarms" could have been the "wrong way round",

meaning, if you check it - alarms show...

Not sure so, as this worked for me, but it also might be due to some changes of code after the desklet was already on my desk - giving me a wrong offset...

I updated the download file, you can also try to check the box...

If both STILL doesn't work/doesn't show any new results (error messages),

could you please check, if

- after setting a new alarm -

an alarm is created in the alarmfile and post it here?

So I can see, if a possible bug is in the setting an alarm or in the seeking the next alarm function...

#428970

i can`t download the latest version of avescript 1.0.7 ........ ";http://avedesk.philc.ca/modules/PDdo...p?cid=5&lid=31" send error "XOOPS path check: Script is not inside XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and cannot run"

Please....
