Using WB only to move the min/max buttons to the left

I've spent so many hours over the last two days trying to figure out how to move the minimize, maximize, and close buttons on my window bars to the left that I want to cry. Almost everything is perfectly Mac, just that one thing is bugging me...

I tried ShellWM but that wasn't satisfactory as it altered the actual folder bar, from the soft-gray rounded-edged bar made by FlyAKite to this too-bright straight-edged bar. I have WindowsBlind, which everyone on the net seems to say is capable of moving the buttons like I want... but. nobody. explains. how. I can't seem to find it in any of the options in WindowsBlind, and I haven't yet found a decent tutorial. How do you just alter the buttons?!

Which skin are you using? It depends on the skin. For example I use: Tiger 2 by -kol & Mac OS X Tiger by S. Grenier. These are just a few, check deviantart or wincustomize for more.

I'm not currently using WindowsBlind for the Mac theme, just whatever was bundled in the FlyAKite program, plus the Multi-Plugin that fixes the iTunes min, max, close buttons so they're on the left. So I've got iTunes with the buttons on the left like I want them, but nothing else...

Is there a way I can configure an incredibly simple WindowsBlind theme that only alters the button placement and leaves everything else intact? Everything else is fine as it is...

What you're saying is that you are using visual styles. By doing so, you won't be able to move the buttons to the left. As far as I know, WindowBlinds is the only program with which you can do that. Visual Styles only skin buttons, they cannot move them.

Thanks, but I have WindowBlinds, and the problem is that I don't know how to use WindowBlinds to make the buttons move to the left. I've seen everyone say just what you said about WindowBlinds being the only program that can move the buttons, but no one has actually explained how, other than saying I should download a complete skin mod... I don't want that, again, my theme is great the way it is, I just want to make a simple, buttons-only configuration with WindowBlinds that won't alter anything else. How can I do this?

I know there is a way to do this in SkinStudio by moving each individual button (including all it's layers) manually, but there might be an easier way... anyone?

Windowblinds itself is not going to move the buttons. There is no configuration in WB that will let you just move buttons to either side.

If you wan to mod a skin to move the buttons to the left you are going to have to use a tool such as SkinStudio.

za105, follow step by step

1. download any of the skins as mentioned by Major Plaza

2. unzip or unrar the file to reveal the skin with a .wba extension

3. double-click on that skin file and WindowBlinds on the taskbar will pop a balloon.

4. follow the instructions on the balloon and you should be all set.

But...

1. if you double-click on the .wba skin file and nothing happens except open a dialog asking what program to open it with... and...

2. if you don't see windowblinds icon on the taskbar, right-click on your desktop and select Properties.

3. on the Display Properties menu, click on the Appearance tab.

4. you should see a WindowBlinds button on the right side of the item.

5. if you don't see a WindowBlinds button, you don't have WindowBlinds. (Download a trial or buy it from Stardock.com)
