Aqua-Soft Forumshere's my problem: if i'm in coverflow view and i'm playing a compilation album, i get the same cover over and over, one for each song/artist on the album. any way to fix that?

Weird... is the album marked as a compilation in the Get Info? iTunes is a bit nasty on tags.
In the song info, the "Album Artist" (not the "Artist" field)for songs of the same album should be the same. Really the same, down to the letters and spaces between them, cause itunes sees for example : "Sting" and "Sting_" , but with the space hidden until you click it, as two different artists. I had to find this out the hard way (read: a whole night struggling, lost a few hairs on the way). Also check the other fields like "Comments", track numbers and so on.

okay, i just found out what album artist is good for. it's really useful for the way coverflow displays compilations. because coverflow isn't 'live' and only shows album and artist (both of which are static fields), you want it to show something for 'artist' when playing a compilation. so, under 'album artist' you put 'various artists' or 'a plethora of bands.' that way, coverflow will display 'hip-hop malt liquor party mixes' as the album and 'buncha bruthas' as the artist. savvy?

'feat. artist X'
or
for collectives where different artist perform each song but release under the same artist name. For example: My Culture by 1 Giant Leap (Album Artist) - performed by Maxi Jazz and Robbie Williams (Artist).
