Help! confused, how todo all of these?

Hi sorry i'm completly new to all this and its very hard for me, I was wondering if you could tell me how to configure my rk launcher?

Basically I want to know if I can do 6 things I would like todo very badly, I want to get rid of my windows taskbar as this is a lot nicer!!

1, Can I have a button on there so its like the windows start button? and behaves in the same way?

2, Is there anyway I could configure a button to come up with the normal "My Computer" button?

3, Is there anyway I could have a windows tray also included into the rklauncher?

4, Could I possibly create a second rklauncher, or split it off into two different bars, one for lauching programs and the like and the other for things I minimized?

5, Could I create a button that has a dropdown menu, that if I hover over it or click it, the menu drops down and shows a list of all my games?

6, Change the email button to launch hotmail rather than outlook express?

Hi, I downloaded the files for the startmenu docklet, what do I do with the files? they have no instruction (well they do, put them in a folder and well thats it, where to put folder and how to initialize?

For number 5...instead of using KKMENU you can just create a folder - call it "Games" if you want, put shortcuts to all your games in the folder. Create a dock item pointing to the folder. Change the icon of the dock item to whatever you want. If you click AND HOLD your mouse cursor over the dock item, a menu will appear showing all the items in the folder....that's a feature buit in to RK Launcher

Hmm thats a rather sweet feature, thanks!

Is there anyway I can set rklauncher so that all windows dont overlap with it and get attached to its edges like they do with the normal windows bar at the bottom?

I like rklauncher always on top however if i do I cannot close some windows so its annoying, ofcourse I can close them another way but it requires more effort.

If you click AND HOLD your mouse cursor over the dock item, a menu will appear showing all the items in the folder.

>> i tried this, but when i clicked on the items, nothing happened (ie they didn't open or anything)......why?

#425306

The dock item MUST to be a folder.

sorry.........what i meant was that, a menu showing the contents of the folder did open, but clicking on any items on that menu failed to do anything......

Are you sure the item on the list you clicked points to the correct path of the item you want to open? It works fine here.

#425675

yup, pretty certain, i opened them from the folder itself and checked

You know I'm seeing the same thing...it'll open sub-folders if you click on them in the menu, but if I try to run a shortcut pointing to an executable, it says it can't find the file. I could have sworn it worked before, but maybe I'm getting it confused with Yz dock, which DOES work the way it should (it runs the executable pointed to by the shortcut).

this folder option works for me & i'm using build 255 - T/F

#425813

Works for me too, sometimes.

If I have the locked, the context menu doesn't show at all.

#425814

Yes...it works for me too IF the menu item is another folder and you select it, RKL will open the folder. HOWEVER, if the item on the menu is a shortcut to an executable file, it doesn't run the executable (like Yz Dock or Objectdock do), RKL says it can't find the application - even though the shortcut has the proper path in it.
