Sygate logging port scans from other computer connected to router

Long subject line, isn't it?

I'm using a Linksys WRT54G router, shared between my desktop (wired) and my father's Dell Inspirn laptop. They're set up with static I.P as my ISP requires it.

The problem is that my firewall constantly logs port scan attacks from the laptop. It's more annoying than anything as it tends to steal focus from fullscreen apps, especially games.

Is it safe to simply add an advanced rule that allows traffic from the laptop's I.P address?
