How to group album in iTunes

Hello aquasoftians!

I have one question and here it is =)

How to group album iniTunes? And thats not so simple =)

i have album "Album" of artist "Artist"

But some tracks have artist looks like "Artist feat. Second" And that is a problem... Now in music browser i have "Artist" AND "Artist feat. Second". I'd like to keep "feat. Second" partif its possible. Any ideas?

Select all songs part of the album, and then enable "Part of compilation". However, this might still look off in coverflow (IF ur on iTunes7), multi-ple instances of the same cover art might be shown. What I do is then add a space after artist "Artist", so that iTunes thinks it's "Artist ft. second".

Select all the tracks from that album, then Cmd-Click/Right-Click > Get Info, and in the "Album Artist" field type the name of the artist/band (without feat. N)

I didn't want it to be a "Compilation" and i try to use Album Artist field...

Compilation remove Artist from music browser and put album name under Compilation part (nooo)

Album Artist does nothing i can describe... just one more field )) artists column in browser keep showing all variants "feat. Second" artists...

nilcolor, this has been a problem for many people in many music players, what i've noticed is people who want to keep all artist's songs together tend to cut the "ft. second" bit and paste it after the title, so for example i am listening to "fabolous - trade it all ft. jagged edge" rather then "fabolous ft. jagged edge - trade it all"

although it may seem a bit off, ipods dont scroll long artists names, and most music players tend to like it when the artist field is consistent.

if it still doesnt work, its because the damn album artist field is different, i hate that column :)

by the way, i know it takes a long time to sort older songs but the albums i import seem to usually keep the ft. second field in title :)

I've had also some problems with album sorting in the new CoverFlow feature in iTunes7 but finally I understood the process and it's quite simple.

As mishka80 said you have to use the "Album Artist" field to write the main artist name. Let's say you have a song by Artist X featuring Artist Y which is part of an album by Artist A. All you have to do is write "Artist A" in the Album Artist field.

Notice that every song in the album MUST have the same "Album Artist" information.

This also applies to albums of various artists (i.e. Summer Hits). In this case you can write "V.A." in the "Album Artist" field.

Give it a try, it might be a bit frustrating till you get it to work but it does work!!
