Beware, Potential Upgraders: iTunes 7 Eats Custom EQs For Breakfast.

In short, that's just what it did to the EQ I had set just friggin perfect. Not too much of anything, just to the point where the detail popped out at you.

Now, thanks to iTunes 7, my lovely setting that I had laid since iTunes 5 has gone AWOL.

After sh*tting myself (not literally, just mentally) upon seeing my EQ missing, I attempted a restore point. Good ol' Windows decides it can't find some 'crucial system files' and thus won't open iTunes.

So, figuring it was nothing, I undid the restore and stuck with iTunes 7 and trying to set the EQ back.

Very funny I am. Since I'd had the thing graphed for so long, I haven't a clue what the curve looks like anymore, and thus can't get it in the sweet spot again.

Does anyone know a way I can recover the EQ setting? Or am I screwed? I'd like to be able to at least just slap a piece of trace paper over the screen and doodle the EQ curve then restore back to 7 and copy the curve over.

But to anyone else out there-before you upgrade, MAKE NOTE OF YOUR EQ if you care about it any.

Where are they stored? You can look through the restore points in the hidden System Volume Information folder (change security permissions first) if it's a file.

Ah yes - I know! The same thing happend to me last night upon moving my itunes-libary all EQ settings and playlists got lost.

my eq's are still here..must be different for different setups....its not as much of a problem as you make it out to be....
