iPod Hebrew Support?!

Hey Chaps,

Looking to buy a Video Ipod but before I do want to know so more information regarding the supposed Hebrew capablities on the Video Ipod.

I noticed that in your Multi-Plugin for Itunes 7, you wrote:

iPod Hebrew Support:

You may use this option if you want your iPod to display hebrew.

In order to enable it, download the latest iPod Updater from http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/, run the Hebrew iPod Updater which can be downloaded using the provided button, and enable the option for iPod Hebrew support.

This Hebrew support solution uses the official iPod Hebrew firmware, so it should not void your iPod's warranty.

Can you explain this more in detail? With the newest patches, the Ipod will be able to display Hebrew song tags? Does it change the menus to Hebrew? Where is this "Hebrew iPod Updater"?

You need to download the latest iPod updater from apple, then download the "Hebrew iPod Updater", then you run the hebrew one and this patches the updater from apple so that it would install Hebrew fonts on the iPod, then you connect your ipod and update it using the regular updater and there you have Hebrew in your iPod.

This doesn't change the menus to hebrew (though I heared there is some way to do that), it's just adding Hebrew fonts so you could see the names in Hebrew.

Note: After updating your iPod with the updater, you can only transfer songs to it using iTunes with Multi-Plugin.

So glad finally Apple has recognized Hebrew fo the Ipod, finally after some hackers have been trying to implament Hebrew characters in the firmware, usually if you had Hebrew characters in the ipod it would just be blank and it would take such a long time and frustrating time translating the titles, Apple has made it part of their updates, so happy.

Does it still have a problem with left to right characters? Like will it write Shalom as Molahs in Hebrew?

And, it works on the newest Apple Ipod Video?

The author of the hebrew updater is not Apple.

You can download the updater by clicking "Get Hebrew iPod updater" on the Multi-Plugin Preferences under the "Compatibillity" tab.

I see, but does Multi-Plugin 2.3 work for Itunes 6 for Ipod Video, the newest ones?

Just wondering, localhost, when do you think the problem will be fixed, just excited you know?

And is there any problem with the Hebrew characters being written in right to left because I have heard some of other other programs have a problem where "shalom" (in Hebrew) appears as "molahs"?

It will work with every iPod except the 2G nano, which currently can't be edited for hebrew support (its firmware is encrypted).

btw, I'm very close to finishing this

The code for enabling the Update button even if the latest firmware is installed is ready, as well as the code for downloading firmware from a server.

I just have to set it to download the firmware when needed and put it in the right place.

Is there any way you can enable the Update button to reinstall the firmware, or downgrade it (Should be possible if iTunes itself runs the updater) for 2G Nanos (I got one, I saw you at iPodWizard forums ) and other iPod (firmware encription isn't a problem there since you flash with apple firmware)
