I've been working on a widget that sits on top of the taskbar to emulate the Spotlight icon. I've gotten it perfectly positioned, but whenever I click on the taskbar or Start menu, the widget gets buried. There must be some little snippet of code I can put in that will keep the widget always on top of the taskbar (like TClock, for example), but I have no idea what it would be. Can anyone help me out?
Putting a widget on top of the taskbar
Not possible without setting the widget as a child of the taskbar (which isn't possible if the widget is a layered window).
you might want to take a look at the samurize taskbar. maybe some clues there...
Not really a good solution, but you can turn "keep the taskbar on top of other windows" off in the properties and set the widget always on top (tested in avedesk).
