I want Firefox to send and receive information from the 'Net, but I don't want anything else connected to the internet. I'm a big paranoid, and I know for a fact someone constantly logs into my workstation at school via Remote Desktop Connection, and want to make sure that doesn't happen anymore.

You mean a rules-based software firewall? There are dozens. Zonealarm, Sygate, Kerio, Tiny, etc.
If that's really happening, change all your account passwords. Or even better, turn off Remote Desktop.
Use Zone Alarm and set it to stealth mode.
Then kill remote registry services and remote desktop.
