Attention All Members: Explanations Are Due!

First, let me say, I hate banning forum members. It just sucks.

Ban, ban, is everyone gonna get banned?

Several months ago I returned to Aqua-Soft just to hang out, but there was trouble in paradise. If you will remember, many people were constantly complaining about this member or that member and the board wasn't really focused so much on the Aqua GUI as it was about weeding through the complaints. This kinda broke my heart, cause I love this place and the people here.

Goku asked if I would help clean up the board. I agreed.

So, it's been done over a few months. Careful discussion, examination, and scrutiny has pinpointed certain members that ALWAYS took threads and pretty much destroyed them. These members were hostile towards others, contributed little and were agressive towards others.

Well, these people are gone now.

If you saw me being confrontational with members, I hope you understand. Goku knew what was going on, as it was planned for me to be tough on these people.

Board Improvements:

The board has been improving greatly thanks to efforts from some of our more productive members. Just take a look through Yz Dock forum or Aqua related apps.

Our newer members are asking the right questions, and injecting a good measure of creativity to this community. Thanks to everyone that is contributing in every way, no matter how small.

Take the time to really look through some of the older posts and see how you can contribute. So many of our members here are extremely talented that this is a really special place.

On a side note:

The rules are in place for everyone to see...if you have a problem, just msg me or another staff member, we try to resolve most conflicts peacefully, without warnings or bannings. Usually.

Read through the rules. They arent alot, and usually if you break them we just try to point out that you broke the rule, please dont do it again, have a nice day. No warnings, no bannings, no griping, no hard feelings. Thats how it should be. Love and peace and all that candy goodness.

If a person comes into Aqua-Soft and starts harrassing others, they will be removed. It's just not needed around here, we're already looking over our shoulders just waiting for Apple to change it's mind about our existance. We just don't need people tearing this place down.

Anyhow, the baddies are gone now, thanks for not freaking out while I went on a 'rampage'. It was for a good cause.

i know im new to this place, but i just want to say that u guys have done a great job at keeping this place in tip top shape. ive seen tons of online communites having tons of disruptions, and having moderators and other er.. elders do nothing about it, gladly this isnt one of them. good job guys, keep it up (Y)

It's funny - I love forums. I'm a forum junky.

Yet I've never thought Aqua-Soft should have a forum. I can't explain it.

I can gaurantee I will never personally kill them though, they seem to have really let the community grow and evolve. Especially for the noobs and the developers, which is very cool. Aqua-Soft has this funny trait to it's forums - you can't list everyone that's made a major contribution here - the list is just too long. I've tried a few times and finally I always end up adding "...and everyone else." to my list of names. I like that alot.

I don't know if it's about power, more like doing it right. Not letting people walk all over the other members. I don't know - there are just some people that seem to want to tear others down at every turn, and thats just sad.

I spent COUNTLESS hours trying to do this same thing for months and could NEVER catch up to all the crap that cirulated on the boards because i felt as if i was doing it all alone.

KUDOS to you DZ...thanks for not only validating all the work done here but also cleaning up the mess. As you recall, everytime I started 'cleaning', sh## hit the fan, so at least now there is proof I wasnt talking out of my ass or 'ranting' as some would call it.

LOL... tis indeed interesting that when you tried to 'clean up' the boards, people whined and resisted. But with DZ, they are willing and obeying.

I guess it has to do something with the fact that he's a zombie and you're a duck.

I'm just more of a heartless bastard than you are. Kudos to you for having a soul!!!

I have to admit I take perverse pleasure in toying with people that need to go...it's probably not one of my better qualities, but I do justify it in that it makes the board a better place.

Honestly, Timan, Duckie, Goku, Iceman, Mr.Aqua, contrasutra, Taha AND EVERYONE ELSE has made this place so much better than any of us original guys could have. I can't even begin to tell you my 'shock, awe and amazement' when I returned from my time away and found this site not just alive, but alive and flourishing...

Anything I can do to keep it going is my pleasure.
