Changing icons for programs

I've been using RK launcher for quite some time now, and found it very easy to use. However, there is one thing I cannot find by myself and it very annoying;

when you allow RK launcher to show the 'new applications', the standard icons that are associated with the programs are too small, and look very blurry in the RK launcher.

I wonder if it is possible to change the icon for a program, so when it you start it the next time and it shows up, you don't need to change it to your own icon anymore?

there is such a thing in windows that is called "change icon" under the item properties

was that what u have in mind?

You mean in RK or the computer itself? I tried to change the icons because I have iconpackager, but it doesnt change the icon the program appears with in for ex. the taskbar and RK launcher.

Im not talking about icons that are in the launcher when you start windows- but the ones of the programs you start and then appear in the dock.

that was what i talked about

right click on the programme icon, select properties, u must have an option for "change icon"

Is there also a possibility that when you change it, you can tell the dock to use that same icon the next time you start it?

few possibilities:

. change it direct within RKLauncher if it is already a dock item (same procedure, right click on icon, dock item properties, etc ...)

. create the shorcut for the one that u just changed and draf it into RKLauncher (take the old one out of RKLauncher)

. ...

i would change the thread as to not mentioning that this is an RKLauncher "icon problem" :-)

I believe I have your solution. Althogh I'm unable to test it for myself at the moment, tell me how it goes.

Just make a shortcut to the program, change the icon for the shortcut, then open it.

Did that work? The shortcut icon should show every time now... I think.
