Bluetooth Won't Power On

For some strange reason, the Bluetooth device on my Acer Aspire 5100 refuses to turn on. It acts like my WLAN switch, where you slide a button over and slide it back to turn it on (The button is spring loaded). But, when I do that, the light does not come on, and my Bluetooth software complains about it not being on. Is there a way I can force start it or something?

Is it disabled on your computer? It has to be enabled. Check Device Manager.

try to re-install the soft.. and if its a USB-connected bt..then check USB ports

When installing the drivers, it says the Bluetooth Deivce isn't powered on.

Then check your USB ports.. or may be contact the people you bought your bt from.. ask them to verify whether it works or not.
