Hi Guys,
I was just wondering if it is possible to copy Adobe Creative Suite 2 and Microsoft Office applications from the Applications folder in my iMac to my Powerbook. Will it work because it will be copied from a external hard drive (or flash drive) to the Powerbook's application folder? I misplaced my Adobe CS2 and Microsoft Office and I really need these apps installed into my Powerbook. This is just and idea. Is this possible? Thanks!
If you copy applications to a fat or fat 32 formatted disk, which is the standard for most not made directly for mac, the apps will not work. You'll have to find another way to move them, like a mac OS extended formatted disk or connect the two macs with a firewire cable and do it that way. Otherwise the apps should work I have done this before over a network with an apple share.

About Adobe:
Their installer will place so many hidden preferences around the various Library folders, you simply won't get them all. In addition, you have to override some certain databases which Adobe stores licensing information on. You MIGHT be able to get tech support to transfer your license, but otherwise, it simply is not happening.
About Microsoft:
Your licensing data is inside the Microsoft Office 2004 folder (or X, whatever). By copying over the folder, you'll transfer everything. However, you cannot use the two licenses at the same time on the same network or Office will quit the one opened last.

Gnome, I was wondering if this would have worked. So you are saying that Adobe is the other app that has so many extra stuff to its app? So I will not be able to copy any single applications like Photoshop and Illustrator?
By the way, would Stuffit Expander work by copying it over as well?
I dont understand why FAT32 would be on a Mac...I think he is speaking about Windows. He has to be.

Will CS2 Disc allow me to install the same program on several computers unlimited times or am I limited to how many licenses I use?
I was saying that by default alot of external hard or flash drives have FAT or FAT 32 by default, and you can still store data on them. but in short if you store an app on a FAT or FAT32 formatted drive the app won't work anymore. I had this problem before when I tried to move an application from one computer to another with a FAT 32 formatted thumb drive.
