cd icon thingy

hey does anyone know of an app that can put an icon on the desktop when a removable drive is mounted like in mac but for windows i have seen some shareware apps that do this or freeware apps that only show mounted cd's. ive searched the forums and couldn't find anything thx in adv

yea ive seen it but cant use it doesnt it require directx 9.0?

my pc begins to lag when i install directx9 so i stay with v8

Is all you want from the program to display an icon when your drive is ready? If so, it shouldn't be very hard at to to create. I could whip one up if you'd like in a couple of hours. Let me know what sort of features you would want (ie: Show volume name, size, etc.) and I'll get to it when I'm finished updating VideoShelf.

yea something like this^ like for example when you plug in youre usb into ure pc this app could place an icon onto the desktop to signify a mounted partition or when the app loads it will place an icon to signify a mounted local hardrive

as for option

ability to change icon

ability to name the shortcut or what ever you call it

ability to move shortcut around

ability to close shortcuts

ability to block shortcuts from coming up

(e.g. hardrive )
