Internet Explorer 6 or 7 on Mac OSX?

Hi Guys,

I recently saw a screenshot of Internet Explorer 7 (the new beta version) on the dock, and this was a leapord mod I guess of some sort. Is it possible to have Internet Explorer 7 on the mac, or are we just stuck with the old Internet Explorer 5 for mac? I am guessing that the person who made the screenshot had a dock icon of the new Internet Explorer 7, and used that to cover up IE 5...but I just wanted to check and make sure. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

yes - use crossover

Hi,

Thanks for informing me about the Crossover app, but their isn't a standalone version of IE 7 for Mac OSX? Not even a modified version for Mac? I am trying to avoid having to run a program to run another program...Thanks though.

ie development stopped development

doing a simple search on google for "internet explorer" and mac, would have given you that information

Just use Firefox on your Mac. Safari blows and IE5 for Mac is useless and grossly outdated.

Instead of Firefox I recommend Camino - it runs the same engine plus is faster and looks nicer than Firefox which is some kind of mutant on OSX.

I'm with Pe8er. Camino rocks--my only problem so far is that Firefox extensions don't work. I miss my "Recently Closed Tabs!"

Oh, okay..I understand. I already use Camino..and firefox on my pc..but I thought you can use IE on a mac (IE 7). Thanks though. I am guessing that the screenshot that the person took of the IE 7 on Leopard was a fake.

again, it most likely wasn't a fake. the person was probably using crossover

The leapord screenshot you're referring to just had the guy past a window in. It was fake.

There is no IE 6 or 7 for Mac. However, as was said earlier, you can run it via Crossover, which replicates the Windows API, allowing many Windows apps to run under OS X. Here is the link to Crossover's page for IE 6. Just install Crossover, then download the installer app for IE 6 and run it via Crossover. Hope this helps.
