Aqua-Soft ForumsI don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but on all the macs at Apple Stores, there's a flash based (i guess) application launcher in the middle of the desktop. If anybody has any idea how to attain that, it'd be great.

Actually, it's a program called desktopbuttons and is internally developed by Apple. It is basically a txt file of four URLs and a RSRC file that contains all of the graphics (the icons AND the text). You have to use HTML to target applications.
While it is light weight, it requires ThemePark and Photoshop to edit. To get the program, walk into an Apple Store and copy "DesktopButtons" (something like that) from somewhere in the Library folder (Macintosh HD/Library/DesktopButtons?).

thanks a lot gnomexp. I actually just google searched desktopbuttons, and found a shareware (four bucks) app callled docktop. granted, it's relatively useless, but interesting. in any case, my thirst of curiosity has been quenched.
