Marquee

Marquee_Splash.png

For those who've always wanted to see what's playing in WMP without having to open the window I present to you Marquee! This small application will sit quietly on your desktop and display the album art of the currently playing song and song information.

What's more, you can control them both directly from Marquee so there's no more need to pause what you're doing to open the media player. Just left-click the album cover and you'll be able to play/pause, stop and skip forward and back through the playlist. Or now, use the remote for even more hassle-free listening enjoyment. If this was not enough, you can even drag-and-drop your media files directly on to the album cover and it'll update your playlist!

In addition, Marquee is also skinnable so it will fit in with any theme you have. Included is a default theme to get you started. I have several more that I need to get permission to release first (Cerebro, Inspirat SE, Somatic, etc...). In the near future I was also be releasing a Theme Developer application so creating your own themes will be be a snap.

--NOTE: This application looks for the jpeg image found within the folder where the song file is located. If it does not find one and you are connected to the internet, it will search Amazon.com for it. Unfortunately, at the moment, it does not save the file.

-- NOTICE! Make sure this is enabled before starting Marquee again. If it is not, Marquee will fail work properly.

This app looks lovely in your screenshots and is very attractive. A great product which provides a nice kind of 'avetunes for wmp' and is very welcome.

When I run it, after having double clicked register.bat, I get the icon in the system tray but no display at all, even when wmp is open. I'm using version 11, the second beta so I don't know if that's the problem. Also, I have marquee.exe and the rest of the zip contents on my D drive rather than the system drive which is C.

Just wondered if you could offer any assistance, although I'm sure it's just me having done something stupid.

No no, I believe I was the one that was stupid. I forgot to include the plugin that interfaces with WMP. It can be downloaded off the net (Just search for WMPuIce) or wait for the update which should be available within the hour.

Simply the best :P

But really. LOL.

Would be cool if it has a widget version.
