Here are a few screen captures taken with Browser Cam that illustrate some differences between Apple's new Safari browser on a Mac and Explorer 5.5 on Windows. The purpose is to illustrate the differences not diagnose the issue, or determine whether the differences are critical. I think the key point here is not that either browser is right or wrong, simply that code written by obviously capable web designers behaves differently on Safari and may need to be re-checked and perhaps updated. This includes browser detection scripts, html, javascript, etc
Safari Vs I E
very interesting. i would have guessed safari was coded better than explorer but i guess thats not the issue. i think with internet browsers its better to go with open source just simply because the internet is always changing and because open source is open, changes can be made faster, errors caught quickly and corrected
just my 2 cents
If the page meets W3C standards and looks bad on a browser, it the browser.
That is a moot point. Most of todays webpages were designed using IE as their visual guide and many were never tested on other browsers. What may look good on IE may look bad using Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, Safari, etc.
For example, If I designed my webpages and used only Safari as my visual reference, you can bet that there will be problems viewing it through Internet Explorer.

Couldnt have said it better, thank you GAMEBOYZ.

@Sen: I hope you're not the person from Broswer cam cause I must note that the person who did those comparisons should have a G5 tower thrown at. Directly towards his head.
oh god, who can be so unfamiliar with the facts like him??

I just noticed that photoshop runs a lot better on the mac than MS paint does on the PC. ill post some screenshots, highlight the differences and prove the incompleteness of Ms paint.
Ms paint saves in horrible quality in a jpg format and ps can let you choose the quality.

@Goku: I hope you're not the person from Apple who thinks every product from the company is perfect from the alpha releases to version 35.0 final without bug reports like this browsercum page.

I just noticed that Propellerheads Reason full-featured audiosoftware runs a lot better on Windoze than Apple Volume Control on a mac.
if you want real comparisons without stupidity go to http://www.xvsxp.com/
i've noticed that problem with the safari on "panther",
it runs words together, especially words ending in "g".
And this is on most sites that i've checked, yahoo, google, cnet..... .
very annoying.
"i view webpages on my windoze machine more accurately than with
safari on "panther".

LOL....Unfortunately for you; he is... ![]()
Go saiyan!
it's not important he is or not. the most important thing whether he can believe a first version of a software(a browser!) may be very buggy.
is it a shame? it's normal!
hehe, steve jobs is my dad's friend.
but regardless its silly to fall on a broswer while many sites arent even written to support safari.
I have a personal website and i remember that without the aid of my roomate (i was using an unknown app for webdesigning) i wouldnt be able to load my site correctly on mozilla or netscape, not to mention safari. Do you really think that its the browsers? its not even an arugement here...
IE got so popular (in a contreversial way to begin with) so most of the sites i visit are purely dedicated for the IE encoding. I even go to official news websites and in their very source they have nothing supported for other browsers, which is a shame.
Not safari should be ashamed my friend.
We should be thankful apple is upgrading its functionality and features to fully support the IE control.
I told steve about you btw, he will use your posts as jokes at apple's buisness meetings :boob_shake:
hey, Goku! how old are you? you talk like a jelaous teenager
i really don't care your father is the friend of steve blowjob or billy
and you may insult me as an admin too and you may forward my posts (even if there aren't anything that could be used as a joke at apple's pussyness meetings) and my message to him: 'Steve, don't be an asshole!' but i don't understand your attitude, Goku.
why does it hurt Safari is buggy? they'll develop it and it'll be useable.
you don't have to protect Apple and Safari. next time will you advertise Apple products, Goku?
@Goku
If Steve Jobs is a friend of your Dad, then why is their always these problems with the aqua emulation community. If your Dad was really his friend then ask Steve Jobs for a favour and tell his legal team to back of the emulators.
Personally i think you're full of B.S.
Honestly, I see nothing wrong with Goku's previous post. It's not my duty to defend him, but really! Goku has said more explicit things before.
I don't really think many people actually read this and understood it.

@sen:
I'm not a teenager, and i "believe" that in the way you refered to me, you definitely dont seem to imply any sympathy towards teenagers in general.
Also, I was kidding with you when i said that my dad knows steve jobs in person. easy there killer.. If that was the case, i would have worked in pixar by now. So please care to take things a little less literaly and more lightly.
Also, assuming you werent from that website that did the comparisons after you never replied back to my question if you were, i felt free to unleash my gokuness onto that site. In no way i ever wished to insult you nor did i do so, in my posts here. I am sorry if it was a little too sarcastic for you.

Gameboyz and myself have showed the real light of the picture here and yet i still look like i'm hurt its buggy. I wasnt hurt in the slightest it is buggy or not, but because of the false comparison (and let us all cut through the crap cake here, all the disclaimer b.s that came along with it didnt really means beans).
I have the real safari, and sometimes, but really sometimes, for some unique reasons, and so goes for IE they crash - nothing against either one. So in no way i was protecting whats less buggy or not. The comparison in the site had a sharp smell of anti mac covered up with that "oh no, its just some innocent comparison for the good-heart public" disclaimer and i felt like sending goku, the head of the justice league to straighten this foul incident out, mainly after gambeboyz was preparing the ground for me :brucelee: (i'm being extreme here incase someone havent noticed).
Again, please CARE to read gameboyz and my posts, since thats the bitter truth. I'm not saying anything BAD against PCs or IE.
Regarding advertising for apple, i could answer in a bad way cause it irritated me you took the things so personaly, but ill just ask you whats bad in loving apple a lot? I'm not a mac elitist and i still am more a pc user than a mac user, infact my next computer i wanna buy, if and when i get the money, is a seriously powerful pc for my 3D work.
Thats all.

@Sephiroth
you are absolutly correct, I lied. (Y)
Steve jobs isnt my dad's friend! damn you're good :order:
And when you thought im full of B.S., you were right MA LITTA FRIEND.
However, it seems like my finest bull's excrement really got you vewwy vewwy mad didnt it? :bow:
-----------
I know the next time i see the both of you, i wont joke around anymore.
@ihartmacz
Thank you for showing some objectiveness here.
Can you people not tell a sarcastic sayain :goku: :ss_goku:
Clearly Goku is being sarcastic and if you feel that way about Apple's 'pussy meetings', yea, that's right, the ones where they decide on the features that make OSX the best, than what are you doing here. Why do you jump out on Goku cuz he appreciates Safari, even in the stage it is now, there are a lot of people like that around here. It's an online forum for God sakes. someone saying they like Safari shouldnt start a f***ing war. :who's your daddy:
