I'm downloading the fat ass right now. I'll probably get the same error but I don't know, oh and ugliest icon by far ever created by apple >_

#417249

Im really not liking the look of the new buttons man :(

#417250

I'm loving the new cover browser and grouped with artwork views. So far so good.

Just curious, would it automatically take my itunes library and can I install this over itunes 6?

#417268

Heres some icons from the resources...

#417280

Cover browser ripped from wmp11, some sluggish 'new design video controls', really cute iPod summary page and ..... [TADADADA] gimme back my memory!

Wow, I've never seen Apple make so many bad decisions with one piece of software. It's like they're already losing their edge. Where's my equalizer button? Why is there a useless Eject button (with no regard as to whether there is even a disk in the drive) in its place? What's with this horrible new 'LOOK I CAN USE PHOTOSHOP GRADIENTS!!' skin? And the views? Completely useless. Don't even get me started on bloated memory usage.

Don't get me wrong, I love macs. I do NOT, however, like this new iTunes 7 with all of its stupid gimmicks. Flame me all you want.

Get this crap offa my computer.

EDIT EDIT: To anyone wishing to revert back to iTunes 6, Apple was kind enough to backup your library file before updating it. It's located in a subfolder called 'Previous iTunes Libraries' in your 'My Music' folder. You're gonna need it -- 6 won't read 7's library file.

I've got one really useful thing in iTunes7 - download manager combined with update checker - It's hust offered me to update ipod software and says it needs to download only 19.smth Mb. Looks nice.

To jesstech: Try exporting your media library as XML from iT7 and import it with iT6. But I guess, it would be easier just to remove the library and build it from scratch with iT6. wish you luck.

That's what I was just about to do until I found my savior. See above. The XML file is useless anyway: I made it 'Read Only' to keep iTunes from taking a minute to close.

It's too bad -- I'm sure iTunes 7 for OS X is amazing. God, I need to get off of Windows, and fast.

ok it seems to me that it worked, anyone have a itunes 6.5 intaller so multiplugin could work?

Thanks for resources Timan

It is different from 6.

I dont like the stock buttons (close, min., max), since i am used to 6w/MP [ :)) ].

But there are some REALLY nice features, such as

The different views. I am trying to decide between the frontrow-esque one, and the one that shows album art next to the songs.

The menu that pops up when you plug your ipod in, that displays all your options, so you dont have to go hunting!

I am just waiting for a less buggy M.Plugin for 7 to be released, so i can make it look aqua.

#417357

speaking of mplugin, how do you uninstall this beta version? just delete the files?

Cover browser ripped from wmp11

...

Apple bought CoverFlow, which has been around since before wmp11. Unless you're possibly referring to the grouped version.

Ok, i just installed, but i've got a problem... it just sits at 0 and does nothing.. i've restarted my computer and everything.. any ideas?

My wrap-

looked good on the apple website ... but then i downloaded it... its TERRIBLE-

* You need an iTunes account to use the 'get album art' feature (which i dont have, I just buy CD's as my internet isnt that fast to use the iTunes music store)

* They abandoned the visualiser button and full screen button... which I used and was handy/fast/convenient now its on the menus

* They made it UGLY with a theme that matches nothing

* They got rid of the cool burn/browse button... and put it down the bottom as just a word... no fancy spin animation

IT does however have some cool features with reguard to browsing music

* The new album cd cover view which allows you to flick through cds looks and works well (shame I dont have much album art tho)

* The new album group view is also good

* The source list is better organised/divided into sections

STAY WITH 6... Do you think that Apple is moving in a new direction with its themes??? Because I sure hope that this new iTunes look doesnt find its way into the rest of leopard!

The best feature about iTunes 7 is the gapless playback. It's about time they implemented this long-needed feature!

The views are pretty cool, but can get laggy at times. And I get horrible popping sounds sometimes while browsing explorer or performing other tasks while iTunes is playing music.

Also, the iPod updater doesn't work for me. I click update and it says "Updating iPod..." for about 5 minutes then I get a message saying that it could not update the ipod. Then I gotta restart iTunes to even get my iPod to show back up in the source list.

I guess as of right now, it's just not worth it to upgrade to version 7. It's wayyyy to buggy.

I can't copy my newly download pac man game to my iPod

A windows error pops up saying, "The game “PAC-MAN” was not copied to the iPod because you are not authorized to play it on this computer." iTunes help has no info on this issue so I dunno what to do. I'll go for a restart, but i doubt that will help...

And yes, I have a 5th gen/video iPod + Latest firmware and iTunes 7...

EDIT: problem solved... just had to double click the game and enter my password. Too easy.

EDIT2: I personally think iTunes7 is great. Feels easier to use and looks better, well I think so anyway. I like the way when you plug your iPod in, it shows all the info about it and allows you to change a few options right there. And the tabs are an added bonus, makes things more easier. And the album cover viewer is cool, runs a litle slow on my pc, but does its job.

I also got the dreaded pops- but switching to waveout mode in Quicktime preferences fixed that. I haven't had to deal with those pops since I started using the foobar pass-through so lets hope the new Mplugin makes it out of beta asap. It is the only thing that made iTunes bearable for me.
