Aqua-Soft ForumsUp until now I had to install the SATA drivers from a floppy during XP install on a pc, as XP doesn't have native sata drivers. But since an iMac doesn't have a floppy drive, loading from floppy is no option (and obsolete in my opinion!). I would like to know then how installing SATA drivers is done on an iMac with Bootcamp (if indeed it is necessary to install SATA drivers for XP on a Mac). I'm thinking of getting a 17" iMac in a few days, and I'm doing a bit of research;)

you prolly won't have to. for example: i've always had to use a floppy to install the silicon image si3112 sata drivers on my pc. but, i just replaced my mobo. my new mobo has an uli sata chipset. to my surprise, wxp sees it natively, so i didn't need to install any drivers. my guess is that the same thing will happen on your imac, especially since no one else (that i've heard of) seems to have had this issue. good luck!
Ah ok, I had a suspicion that it wouldn't be necessary. With your revelation that suspicion is becoming fact very fast ../me is preparing to run to the closest apple store 
Worst case senario is that you have to slipstream the driver onto the winXP instalation CD.
In that case, what drivers would I have to use? Intel-Mac chipset specific SATA drivers or would any standard sata driver be enough?
pffft were not supposed to know whats in these magic glowing white boxes. Havent a clue.
No sweat, I'll do a bit of digging around some more, but from what I've come up with so far, I'm thinking more and more that slipstreaming the sata drivers won't be necessary../me already has one foot in the apple store door:d
