Hmmm... U could code a dummy app, that just lurks into the memory without doing anything.
Or you could set the "Link" of the icon to Explorer. (eg: %SYSTEMROOT%explorer.exe) Though it does link to explorer.exe...
Ya, a dummy app is a good idea (if not the only idea). And the simple way to do that is to use AutoHotkey, IMHO.

Ya, but he doesn't want a running program (that shows up!) attached to it.
Actually I want to use the link to link to the My Dashboard .vbs I got from here :

it shows the Yahoo Widgets heads up view. I tried the arrow under the icon, but RK Launcher cuts the icon off before the bottom where the arrow is suppose to be shown. Thank you.
And an icon+arrow wouldn't match the position of the real arrow for the other icons in the dock. Never.
