With My New Cinema Display!

I just got my new cinema display one of the updated ones! I guess? Because I can tell from the box. The Box looks the same and theres not a detail spec sheet or something for that matter. Anyways my problem is that I'm running windows Xp on it and theres not drivers for it except for one call "WInacd". But I don't know if I should use it since its not from apple. I heard there quite good and I want use something to fix the power button problem. Sometimes it doesnt want to turn on or off and I have to unplug it from the power cord. I know theres other people with this problem I found out while I was searching on google and yahoo! Anyone?

Drivers:

you should install winacd. if it doesn't work, you can uninstall it.

alchemist612

what you should do is uninstall your graphic driver/ restart/ windows will automatically recognize your new hareware, run the wizard at this point remember check it at second roll it said: now and then every time i connect the hardware....Not at this time only. i think you had it check at this time only, that's the reason why when you restart windows couldn't see your new hardware....correct me if i'm wrong, good luck.

reinstalling the drivers? But how would that help with the comparability with monitor?

the reason he has to replug the power cord in order to get the power button works, like i said he had it run the windows wizard at one time to recognize the hardware only.

which graphic card do you use? have your graphic source to upgrade the driver not anything else, Apple cinema display compatible with PC plug & play.

Nvidia geforce Evga 7900 GTO. Did this work for you?

#415631

you don't wanna use winacd or else you use your Nvidia driver, go to the site...to see if there's a new driver for your particular graphic card.

Uninstall your old driver before installing the new one

after you have installed the new driver then restart

this point windows will automatically recognized your new driver and ask you to run the wizard for your new hardware.

Running the wizard: Select add my hardware now and then everytime i connect it.
