Hoax. Needs more boobs to be real. (e.g. Little Mermaid)
You have the Prince on your dart-board, don't you?

That's like something you would see in a M. Night Shyamalan movie or something.

#415666

isn't it too effing ugly to be a mermaid? how about a "mer-man you're ugly!" ?

@wiz: you give Shyamalan too much credit. his mermaid would probably look like the Little Mermaid. and played by Bryce Dallas Howard :/

That's Juan Cabana's work.

He made that a few years ago.

He's made a few different variations of these over the years. Creepy looking, but it takes a lot of talent and skill to make one of these.

Check out his gallery.

I think I see the "Made In China" tag somewhere :P

I highly doubt this is real. But then again it might. The only thing close to a mermaid are those who are born with their legs attached resembling the lower body of a mermaid. They are usually surgically taken apart and the child grows up to be normal. Its called the mermaid syndrome.

Other than that...... no....

Sorry Ariel :( But I'll still hang out with you, Sebastian and Flounder.

I know what it is!

*poke it with a stick!*

No, It is completely a concept of fiction. A half human body would not be able to breathe in water and survive. If you think it came to surface to breathe like whales do, then they would have been spotted in current times. ( If you can view the world thru google earth imagine what explorers/ investigators can.) It is out of question that they are extinct now, and existed

earlier as no remains have been found to support this. Lastly the world of fiction is full of such characters who had some part of animal and other humans but they do not exist in reality. Creating through genetic engineering would be next to impossible as it means combining pisces with mammals (The internal organisations of two is completely different and so genetically combining is nearly impossible)

Anyone who has studied evolution will conceed that humans evolved from ocean based species, there are not fact to suggest that a part of human evolution could not have spawn a "mermaid" type being after all genetically we are 90% or so identical to dolphins and fish is only the 5% that make the difference so what if there was a cross over in that 5% ???
