Aqua-Soft ForumsHi, When I was moving my computer to another room I dropped my external hardrive. I tried booting it up with windows and it complained it syntax was destroyed. One folder I can get into but it has japanese letters and random symbols in the filename and one folder cant even be entered. Is there any way to wipe this stuff? I tried a reformat but it complained windows couldnt complete it. Is there anyway to save the HD? I dont care about the files. I just care about the HD space. I use it to transport files between computers easily. The case is USB with an external power adapter. Thanks for you help.

first thing to try is to open up the case and reseat all the connections. if that doesn't work, you could try getting another case and popping the hd in there. or maybe get a new hd and pop it in your old case. hard to tell exactly which one is messed up. prolly the hd. got another hd you could throw in there for testing?
