and they said the delivery time was a few weeks?!
Has anyone else ordered apple products and had to wait this long for them?
For those interested, i bought the 17inch 2.16ghz MacBook Pro with Glossy screen and 1GB single RAM,

it might do with two things. Either your location, or something with the batery recall thing.

ill be the first to congradulate you on your mac purchase, damnit when will my ship arrive.
I think because you have custom options like the glossy screen and a single 1GB stick, it has to be custom built overseas before it ships. That may be why you have a long wait.

Weird. When I ordered my iPod I got it in about a week. Then again, this isn't an iPod. And I suppose the fact that it has custom options makes it pricier. :-
My mini was despatched on the 25th of August...it's a custom job...I don't mind waiting...driving me nuts tho'.
I notice that BTO takes much longer to be delivered than standard orders. I remember when I was ordering my iPod with custom engraving, it took almost 2 weeks to get it. My Macbook, however, was at my door within 24 hours 
Apple have had some shortcomings on different parts during the summer, so they are not quite up to speed. That's why some BTO's have had a long deliverytime. If you ordered mac pro's with geforce 7900gtx's you would have to wait almost a month in Denmark during the summer due to lack of spareparts. (Cisco had the same problem too, in fact many manufacturers have had shortcomings in certain spareparts this summer.)
I ordered my mini on Aug. 20 and got it on Aug. 25. It was a custom order since I ordered 1gb RAM.
I sent my MacBook in for screen repair two weeks ago and a part is STILL on hold. >_

uh
apple has a huge demand for their products, especially macbooks + mbps
you will probably have to wait a while, and even longer if you aren't buying a stock configuration
