Throbber woes

Before I get jumped on let me say first that I searched the site, also google, and I can get rid of the throbber. I've used the newest reg patches from this site that are the same as the ones I used years ago from other forums. The problem is that when I use these they make the throbber and everything else that isn't text disappear in both IE and WE. Some of those buttons come in handy and I need to see them so I always revert back. I'm just getting back into modding and was wondering if anyone knew of a good guide for creating my own throbber that will work in WE as the old guides for IE do.? Or, is there a safe way to reg hack, remove the throbber and still keep the other buttons? Please forgive if you don't know what I mean but the result I always get is all explorer icons disappear and I'm left with only text i.e. File, Edit, View, etc.

Any ideas or help appreciated.

That's exactly the same reg file I used...they're all the same, and that's one of the sites I already visited. I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear, but the reg hack works at getting rid of the throbber...as well as ALL of the other icons in the explorer bar. I wanted to know if anyone had a work-around for this or a way to make custom throbbers to replace the m$ one.

really? that's weird. well, it's maybe a bit of overkill, but search here for 'flyakite' and install that. just make sure you uncheck everything except the throbber stuff. i know for a fact it works. good luck.

I got it backwards..I downloaded FlyakiteOSX v3.5 (on file for now) after I had already used flyakite's excellent uxtheme patcher posted at neowin last year. I believe I'd have to use Replacer to patch the original dll before installing that since the patch is included, I don't know, but I kinda like this DA skin by KoL that I'm using right now, TigerVS_v1_1_2. I'll keep searching for a workable hack or a way to make my own for now. Was mainly wondering if anyone else had my problem and how they fixed it. Thanks for the reply and good day!

Dude, after you do the reg hack, why don't you just right-click the menu bar and select 'Standard Buttons'? Your buttons should reappear.

Thanks millions, Sid! I feel quite the idiot now for not trying that in the first place. I guess this thread is dead and buried.
