I've recently been experiencing this persistant logon issue in XP, and I was wondering if any of you have encountered something similar. I've always used Tweak UI's autologon option with great results. Recently, for some reason, I'm presented with the bloody XP logon thing, and it's getting pretty old. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?
Unable to autologon in XP
If you're using XP Pro, type in "control userpasswords2" and check the option there that appears.

Would you believe me if I told you I was running Home?

You can use XP Home too! Just checked. ![]()
Hmnn, as far as I can see, users aren't required to type in a password. The top check-box is unchecked.

Check it! To see what happens then.

Worked like a charm. Should have taken the "check the option" bit literally.
Thank you for always helping out, NC, I really mean that. It's not exactly the first time you've helped me out with my petty problems. I don't know where you get the strength.
And thank you, jzinaja, as well.
i never knew you could auto logon into xp..lol cool
Ah, I should have specified even further--type the "control userpasswords2" into the Run dialog, off the Start Menu.
Hehe, glad to be able to help. What's ironic is that I was about to follow my own advice so that I could give you the exact text of the checkbox...and then I realized I was on my Macbook
