But i don't undestand why i have to turn off my firewall to download the file...

What is the easiest way of installing the new system files? I can seem to make them go. I would appreciate anyone's help.

For shell32 == Y'z Toolbar

1. you have to start your pc inn safe mode by pressing f8 in the startup,

2. choose start in safe mode,

3. go in \windows\system32\ rename shell32.dll to shell32,

4. copy the new shell32.dll in to \windows\system32\

5. restart your pc

6. go and find the old dll file and take good care of this (it's a bakup)

you can alsow do this with the other files to!

Reason you have to do that is because other sites try to hotlink and cause my site to go over the bandwidth. you just have to disable your firewall or add hardwaregeeks.com to your trusted sites and it should work.

when the firewall is on ur blocking the cookie

Is there some kind of setting I have to change to let the system let me overright the files. I always get a file in use message even in safe mode. I am sorry for acting like a dumbass, but I just can't seem to make it go. Someone help please !!!!!

OK, thanks for everyone's help, but I was able to remove my head from my ass and got it working. It's amazing how Vaseline can help things !!!!!!

i got this to work, but for some reason the my computer icon remained unchanged. very frustrating. anyone know what i need to do? i rebuilt my icon cache after rebooting and coming into windows in normal mode. it updated all other icons, but it did not change the my computer icon.
