New MacBook battery care

What do you guys recommend to maintain a healthy battery for a new MacBook? Should the battery be fully charged before the first use? Or would it be okay to use the laptop while it's charging for the first time? How much battery power is actually in a new laptop out of the box without charging? I do know about Apple's battery calibration steps and that it should be done about once a month.

Thanks

Just follow the battery calibration steps.

And, yes, the battery should be fully charged before you use it.

You can use the laptop while it's charging for the first time without any problems. However, make sure that the battery is fully charged, before you use your laptop off it.

I believe I plugged the Macbook in and then started using it once I pulled it out of the box. It's best to either have it fully charged or charging for the first time you use it. Also, calibrate the battery within a week of buying (or, if you're a sadist, using...there's not supposed to be any significant time difference between those periods!) the Macbook.

i forgot to calibrate it rofl, i only did it 2 weeks after I got it.. Dunno whether that would screw it or not... :(

Yeah, I don't think it's an enormously big deal...took my eight or nine days myself to remember.
