Firefox mouse shortcuts for an Opera user

Hey guys,

I finally broke down and installed FF again (after getting fed up w/ some pages not displaying right in Opera).

However, I'm used to some of Opera's shortcuts and want to know how to do this in FF. I searched and searched and searched (monumentally painful and aggrevating) for the right extensions, settings, whatever--

But anyway, I want to:

1) navigate "forward" or "backward" by or , respectively

2) scroll through tabs by holding down the RMB and moving the scrollwheel--I want the tab to switch upon scrolling to the first notch, rather than scrolling to the first notch to activate the switching function, and then scrolling again to actually change the tab (as with the tab catalog extension).

I'm know I'm being picky, but aren't we all pretty particular about how we like things? (esp. here at A-S) Thanks in advance if you can help me. Otherwise, I'm going to go back to Opera as my default browser (seriously). Thx again guys.

Try Mouse Gestures extension for FF.

I use it to go back and forward, just by holding down right click and dragging left or right.

Its also quite customisable so I'm sure you could get those features you wanted working.

Thx a lot Zaft.

I guess I just wasn't vigilant enough in my customization.

I've managed to get my quick navigation problem solved using regular mouse gestures and my quick tab switching with all-in-one gestures. but neither work at the same time. thus is the fun of customization. i already had both extensions installed too. *sigh*

Does anyone know how to use the keyboard shortcuts from Opera to Firefox, such as letter Z to go back, and letter X to go forward?

Much appreciation.
