Finding this application

a few years ago, when i was went back to Hong Kong, i was at a computer store, and they're desktops were split into 4, so you can see 4 wallpapers, and when you click on it, it enlarges and fills up the whole screen, so in other words you have 4 desktops on 1 computer, was there a aplication such as this fro download today? i've been searchin for it since 4 years ago

litestep was what first introduced me to virtual desktops.

pretty standard among linux and engineering workstation environments. very productive and efficient for desktop organization too!

i think leopard will feature virtual 'tops too (i'm sure you guys will set me straight). i find it hard to believe that xp and vista don't offer this feature by default, but i can just see the dumbfounded look on people's faces... "hey, where'd all my windows go to?"

but i guess that's why it's a powertoy for power users.

Main reason it's not there by default is because MOST users will never use it.

M$ did see the need for it so they created the PowerToy add on.

Mighty nice of them don't ya think. :)
