Yes, And its from every decent window manager from Linux.
The difference in Leopard and Window's powertoy, is Spaces will be packaged with the os.
I'm glad that OSX decided to do a little photocopying from other OSes.
I rarely used System Restore in Windows, or backup applications, but these apps just have to be there when needed. Time Machine looks sweet and promising, but it will have to prove how smart it is, or whether it will eat up huge amounts of disk space for its backups.
Spaces seems very well implemented, with the ability to drag application windows between desktops. Something that could be handy is the option to "save" desktops, and retrieve them (open all related applications and place them accordingly) with a couple of clicks.
Users needed more customization for their desktops. Resizing UI elements (buttons, scrollbars, space between icons, etc) were present in Windows years ago. I understand Apple's choice to provide a unified look, but not all users share the same screen or want the same out of it.
Mail now has notes and to-do's (how do you spell that?). It's slightly going towards Outlook, but I wouldn't be happy if it went too close to it. It's just a little confusing that notes can be written in Dashboard, Stickies and Mail. I just hope there is a unified way to manage all those.
I'm not blaming Apple for "borrowing" features from others. It's obvious that certain features should exist in all OSes targeted to the same users and, luckily, Apple is adding these features nicely.
Microsoft's copying on the other hand, has come down to the point of using abstract backgrounds in Vista as OSX does, renaming its applications to simple names (Windows MAIL, Windows CALENDAR) as in OSX, Aero instead of Aqua, Windows Live instead of iLife, etc.
