Questions About Yzdock

I've been using ObjectDock more lately, but YzDock runs a lot quicker on my computer. I have a few questions that hopefully someone who has used both docks can help me with.

With ObjectDock you have your list of shortcuts to programs, when you click on one of your shortcuts it runs the program and then adds an icon on the task manager side of the dock.

With YzDock(0.4) after I add all the shortcuts i want and then click on a program to run it, I get the running apps triangle, but no icon gets added in the task manager side. so if I get rid of my windows task manager and just have yzdock, when I minimize applications I can't get to them unless I alt-tab through them. They don't show up on a "task manager" side of the dock. is this how it's supposed to be, or is it supposed to work more like objectdock?

I really like yzdock because it's much faster than object dock on my computer, but i need the task manager functionality

thanks

The Y'z Dock has never had the ability to minimize stuff into it but if I remember right Y'z has stated that he will add the function later on and I'm not sure where he stands on the small thumbnail pics I think he may have said no to the thumbnails.

here is a qoute of what he said to me when he replied to one of my emails.

"I will not add the Jini effect to Y'z Dock.

First of all, I do not want to carry out putting a window snapshot on Y'

z Dock. While making much application run, it can expect easily that

dock will be occupied by the icon."

So it sounds like no thumbnail snapshots will be added for the windows and apps. If I under stand the last part I think he may be saying he will add the feature to minimize stuff into the dock and the program will be with its' default icon.

:P

Y'Z dock complement the taskbar, can't replace.

objectdock can replace the taskbar, 100% if it could handle the system tray objects.

you won't be laughin when M.Y. puts in the support for minimizing windows in the dock and when he adds his plug-in feature I'm sure we'll be able to add snapshots and taskbar items and tons of other great stuff. Adding that plug-in feature is kinda like making it open-source =)
