so, i've downloaded some educational films, but i'm having trouble playing them. i'm guessing it's a codec issue. so, is there? a codec pack? for osx? for free? for me? to download?
yes, i googled. yes, i got some hits. but, they were all bs.
p.s. i've already got divx for mac, but i guess i need more. always more...
Get the VLC player. It's got most of the codecs in it as plugins, and it's available for Mac.
thx, that did it! but, i still think there should be a plugin pack for quicktime.
We all like to think that lot of plugins (or components as they are called) are available for Quicktime, but the reality speaks otherwise. Anyway, for most of the XviD/DivX stuff you can use DivX for mac and Xvid delegate component. Try searching for QuickTime Mac Components in Google and you might find some more.
But VLC should satisfy most of your need for *Educational* videos !!
oh, i can see where that might have been misleading. no, i downloaded this video called, 'vector-based radon infused particle paths and the effects of sum-over-history quanta.' hot stuff!!
I've seen that one before. 
I highly doubt it's "educational videos" xD
