I download Shiira

hah!

In actuality, I transferred all the files on my iPod to my Mac (music, photos, documents, pdf files etc). Then I downloaded Camino (another good Mac browser) and..yeah!

Congratulations on your Macbook. I LOVE my Macbook Pro 15"!!

First thing you do on a "NEW" mac would be put the System Install cd in and Format, and pick the crap you want installed.

Then you'll be prompted for about 500 software updates, and once all that is done... Load up safari and start downloading crap.

in the words of daft punk:

Buy it, use it, break it, fix it, trash it, change it, melt - upgrade it, charge it, pawn it, zoom it, press it, snap it, work it, quick - erase it, write it, get it, paste it, save it, load it, check it, quick - rewrite it, plug it, play it, burn it, rip it, drag and drop it, zip - unzip it, lock it, fill it, curl it, find it, view it, curl it, jam - unlock it, surf it, scroll it, pose it, click it, cross it, crack it, twitch - update it, name it, read it, tune it, print it, scan it, send it, fax - rename it,

touch it, bring it, obey it, watch it, turn it, leave it, stop - format it.

That is universally and democratically available for everyone regardless of OS, thus the great equalizer.

yeah, shiira's pretty cool. but, camino would be my full-time browser if there were extensions. so, first thing: firefox. second thing: google browser sync (which i thought i hated at first. now, it's probably number one on my extensions list...)

So your first advice is to format a mac .. is it easy as it is in windows? its a bit daunting when i pull it from the box and press the power button (wherever the hell it will be) Im loving the thought of it arriving and posting my first OSX Screenshot, i do have a slight query, purchasing a mac now ill comw with Tiger until Spring next year when leopard comes out ... what happens then small upgrade fee? or purchase leopard?

Porn :P

Put the CD it came with in, and hold C when you restart the machine, till the boot chime sounds... then the installer will popup and walk you through it all. Its pretty fool proof.

Safari... I need to download all the other apps I use.... oh, appz too if you know what I mean. ;)

Now that does sound fairly easy, im just checking around the apple store now to see what the best deal is on the Macbook, im looking forward to all the new features of leopard, but just the fact that apple are shipping interim releases and im not prepared to wait another 3-5 years for "innovation" as far as im concerned Vista is a complete copy of Leopard, even down to the colour scheme on iCal!
