I think it's a horrible idea because touchscreens well are overrated and SCRATCHEABLE. More things to go wrong with it. Needs to have the wheel. I mean it would be awkward to hold it without touching the screen and getting your greasy paws all over it. I think if it is like that it will be crappy. I certainly won't buy one.

actually apple made a patent that suggested it wouldn't be touch screen all you would have to do is hover your finger above the screen, which sounds a little awkward to me

Let's just say that we have a couple of people fairly high up the Apple food chain who have made it known that the iPod's touchscreen is truly the bee's knees.

Seriously, i bet i will be something that will dazzle us all. I just got a replacement 30GB 5g iPod back from Apple. I haven't opened the "Don't Steal Music" plastic or the little plastic bag it came in. Maybe I sell it...

Well... The design probably won't be like thut BUT everybody speaks of a touchscreen... So it has to be one... Even though I prefer my mp3 player not to have a touchscreen as that will make it less durable .

True... And haviing tried to listen to mp3s with my pda it's not easy to use :/. Especially when you are on the go.
That is kinda cool, however there should be a button on the side to hide the "> iPod [battery status]" and the bottom controls, and they also need a Power button.
And what the hell! There's a "Wheel" option? The deal should be this; another button. Yes, I know. This would be way to many buttons for a touchscreen iPod.

Um.. Touch Screen iPod is in the making I think, I hear alot of rumors out there, don't know if it's true though. But iPhone?! Don't really think that's going to come anytime soon, also that design is not that great either it's just like a screen! What happened to their famous click wheel.. Also, where are all the plugs to hook into computer will go?! Maybe bluetooth? But yeah not my taste.
