Brushed Metal

Uh. Guys. Anyone can guide me through on doing the Brushed Metal effect? I'm pretty lost here.

in photoshop? well ill tell you very quickly hehhe

make a new document.. say 500x500.. fill it with a grey or so... then add noise filter to it.. go to Motion blur and blur it in the direction like the brushed metal.. make a new layer.... select the gradient tool go to Transparent to white gradient.. select reflected type... and draw from the top to bottom to add the shine

just a quicky im sure someone else can explain it in better detail
