Google Sketchup won't start

I have a p4 3.07ghz, 1gb ram, Geforce fx5600, all windows updates, no driver conflicts, the latest nvidia driver, no anti-virus, no firewall, and I followed google's help page and Sketchup still won't run...

Anyone having the same problem?

nope, it doesn't.... and it doesn't even show up on the event viewer neither (start>run>eventvwr)

ok, just to follow up...

i figured out that if i kill explorer.exe and then use Task Manager to launch SketchUp via File > New Task (Run...) then it works fine.

to put it another way -- SketchUp.exe can be launched as long as explorer.exe is not currently running.
