WB or msstyles

Whats better Windows Blinds or downloading msstyles and applying them and witch takes up more ram and slows down ur comp?

windowsblinds allows transparency, buttons on either side, and additional buttons (i.e rollup)

wb takes up more ram but afaik not much. msstyles are built into the OS all you need is a hacked dll something.

pretty good reply for a mac user eh? :D

wb doesnt take up more ram

wb5 works like a msstyle does now :) - it no longer has a process running all the time

This used to be true. Since WB5 was released, it no longer is. Stardock (who wrote the visual styles engine for Microsoft) has managed to get WB5 more efficient, even with its additional features, than using regular visual styles.

Of course, it's Common Internet Geek Knowledge that WB sucks, either because of outdated benchmarks that show visual styles are faster, or because it's payware and thus unappealing.

There was another thread just like this (I assume this one will be closed rather shortly as well for the same reason). I've been using WB for over 2 years and it's great. There's no way I'd go hack my system to use an msstyle when WB can do so much more.

Anyway.. Msstyles is desuet.. Just check a WB5 ss versus a msstyles ss.. Not hard to made a choice ;)

Use them both and decide for yourself. You'll never get an answer to this question unless you answer it yourself. Personally I use them both. I use whatever will change my GUI to my liking.

How prescient :D,

P.S: Do you think I should create an official thread about which is better that I can sticky? That way, it would be easier to direct new members to this discussion...
