Thank you everyone for being helpful. Just remember, I'm sure a few searches could have turned up some answers. ;)

can you sticky this thread please, even the title is begging for it.

#407744

I think it'd be FAR more useful if someone came up with a guide to customizing Firefox. ;)

I can't sticky a bunch of threads. I can sticky a few useful threads.

I think that a guide was already made, however people fail to look inside of it :slant:

Compact menu 1.7.2 is no longer compatible with firefox 1.5+ , does anyone know of another extension or method to hide the menu-bar on-the-fly? I haven't tried it yet, but hiding it using the user-chrome doesn't seem very useful, cuz (theoretically) the menu would no longer be accesible easily (read: at the push of a button).

just change the version info on the extension, it will work. or download 1.7.4.5

@shockme17: thanx a million, 1.7.4.5 did the trick, it just wasn't available through add-ons @ mozilla. Had to get it @ mozdev
