Italian language translation

Hi all in this forum :-)!!! My first post, whoa....

RK has lots of translation apart an from Italian, so I'd like to make a nice one, but... When I try to edit the file .lang I can only see an endless row of little squares

What's happening? How do I have to act to make this thing work out? Please help and thanks in advance!!!
