Voice recognition?

Hi! Does anyone know of a good voice recognition software for winXP? I mean, sth that let you launch and control your apps with your voice (and a mic, of course :) ). I've seen some in the web, but haven't tried them nor investigated too much.

thanks!!

Dragon Dictate used to be the standard...

Correct me If I'm wrong, but doesn't XP have basic voice-recognition? With Office XP (and higher; 2003, for example) voice-recog is improved, and extends to just about every program. The Opera browser has it built-in.

Yes, but this limits your 'actions' to only the M$ apps that have the support. I'd recommend Dragon Naturally Speaking. The only difficulty I had with DNS* was teaching the engine. Make sure you are in a quiet room when teaching your voice engine. And with DNS* you can record special commands and activate a macro/script that does what you want. So its limits are endless.

Okay. Thanks for that bit of info. You're making me want to scour eBay for a copy of DNS.
