[Help] Annoyances With Modded Windows

So I modded my windows to look exactly how I like it. Unfortunately there are several things which are annoying me dreadfully...

Firstly, my taskbar is on the top of the screen. Unfortunately, sometimes when a new window opens, the windows open near the top of the screen and end up under the taskbar. This is a huge pain! Sometimes I have to hide the taskbar or move it so that I can move the opened window.

The second thing has to do with the shutdown screen. Whenever I go to start --> shutdown, my icons (standby, power off, and reset) are all blurry! It just looks as if one of the mods that I have used messed up the shutdown screen...

I believe that the Soulless fonts is what messed up my shutdown screen (even when I remove the other fonts, the shutdown screen is blurry and messed up). Does anybody know how to take a screenshot of a shutdown screen so I can show y'all? Further, how do I replace system fonts? The Soulless font pack replaced one of my system font files and now I can't revert back to the normal font.

Ideas please!

hopefully i can help u with the first prob. i had that, too. am i right that u are using y´s shadows? if yes, go to y´s shadows settings, taskbar tab, and make sure the "automatically adjust the position of an application window so that it does not overlap the talsbar" is active.

with the windows taskbar and start menu settings "keep the taskbar on top of other windows" it works well for me.

I'm actually not using Y'z Shadows...

However, even with the check box "Keep taskbar on top of other windows" checked, the windows (normally browser ir Trillian windows) end up *under* the taskbar...

Not sure wtf is going on... I don't know why the program can't tell the taskbar is there.

There is an application which redefines the "active area" of the desktop and it is specifically to solve this problem. You set it so that it excludes like the top 10 px or so then all the windows and apps do not fall under the top bar. I have the same problem but can't remember the name of the app. I'm sure it was posted at this Forum. Usually if you re-size the window from the bottom, the top edge will move down slightly and if you approach the middle of the window in the top edge usually you can bring it out of the top bar ( it is a pain but usually do-able).

i would like to solve them too

and the icons problem, it happens because the icons themselves and not the fonts. its something about missing icon sizes i think

in every copy/paste/question dialog it happens to me >.<

Anyway about that shutdown dialog box....a screenie would be really helpful. THen perhaps we can help you with fixing it. I have a couple of solutions in my head already but I'm not too sure which one would be appropriate.

At the shutdown screen press Print Screen and then cancel the shutdown dialog box. Then go into MS Paint and click on Paste. It should print a screenshot of the shutdown dialog box..

Does anybody know the name of that app that was mentioned to resize the active desktop area?

I had saved a screenie but lost it. I actually ended up reimaging my computer yesterday night b/c the font problem was driving me nuts and there was nothing I could do to fix it. Everything is back to normal (what would I do without Drive Image!)
