First i want to say very thank you to all frnds who Downloaded my old Version MAC Volume Release [link] , now im changing the name of my software to MAC Gadger,

MAC Gadger is an application that emulates the look and feel of the Mac OS X volume bezel and CD/DVD Tray. It also provides a tray icon from which you can Change the Settings and When you Click on that it will show Volume Control that displays the current volume level and you can set the Volume from there in an OS X style controller.

This new Version contains lots of new Changes and Bugs Fixed and ofcourse i include some new features just as you friends ask me to.

Instructions:

Run the Setup.exe and follow the Wizard,and then go to Settings> from System Tray Icon , Use the Settings > Configuration to set which hotkey you would like to use for which drive and Volume UP/DOWN.

Nice app but the overhead is a bit too much.. I had about 10-15mb just when its in the tray (without keypresses) so i stopped using it promptly. If the resource usage was lower, I'd use it for sure because its pretty cool.. although the volume up/down is upside down!

No ..the APP want 7.2 MB of resource...in my and other m8s system it uses only of 7 MB.. sumthing is wrong with ur OS , which OS u using.. ???

7mb is still quite a lot for what the program actually does.. doesn't it basically just monitor keypresses, and when one of its hotkeys is pressed it performs either turning up/down the volume or ejecting a CD/DVD drive? I wouldn't think that would require even 7mb! What language is it developed in?

Sorry if I'm sounding patronising, but I support this program; I'd just like to see it with less resource usage:D

Ok...let me work on this huh...sum of Thread and Timers using resources.. im goin to patch this.. im using this in VIsual C++ , surely i will patch this...thnx for a Sugestion and a BUG surely goin to fix tht..

How much RAM do you have? 256MB?

If not then try to see the resource usage after using your PC a lot.

Windows XP manage very well the memory usage. Initially it loads what it can, what your system can support.

I tested my program (CAD) in a PC with 256RAM and it used less memory than my old 512RAM PC. But an user tested it in his ultimate system (2GB RAM) and CAD used more RAM!

What a program can't do is use a lot of CPU. Windows XP can't do nothing about it.

Have a lot of free RAM is a waste of system resource considering a regular PC usage.

As an user I don't like applications that unloads its components from RAM just to reduce its memory usage. The application becames slower because it has to load its components everytime you call the program (e.g. ObjectDock).

Let's the system do the job!

yep !!! u r righttt.. i workin on my app after listen this bug from pinita, but jst as u told the higher your ram is the higher memory your app will take... i have 384 MB of RAM and app uses 7.2 MB. and then i load this app to 128 MB RAM User.. its uses near about 5 MB and then i load this in 512 and 1 GB RAM system.. its usingg more memory in tht Systems.. thnx for ur kind Support.. this helps me findin new Bug and Suggestion thnx a lot....

This kind of RAM concern was common at 90's where the system was Windows 98 and RAM was too expensive.

I have a friend with 1GB of RAM, yes 1GB, and he just freaks out with applications like iTunes. But now he understands that everything changed since 90's.
