Foobar2000 Tutorial
There's none that I know of and yes, it can get frustrating at times but once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad at all. I'll write what I can to help you from my own personal experience, others can probably write more in-depth than I. This is written for foobar2000 0.9 and will probably contain slight errors as I don't have fb2k installed anymore and I'm writing this from memory.
Basically, foobar2k has a customizable interface, but to achieve the results you've probably seen from many screenshots, you'll need what's called components (.dlls) to enhance your foobar2k interface (to provide album art, etc.). The following component listing is what I've got myself, and I find this collection is able to achieve practically all screenshots I've seen:
- foo_browser.dll (iTunes-like browser with sort by genre, artist, album, etc.)
- foo_ui_columns.dll (customizes the style of the actual playlist itself)
- foo_uie_albumart.dll (panel displaying album art)
- foo_uie_trackinfo.dll (panel displaying a LOT of trackinfo: time, encoding, bitrate, etc.)
Yes, I know there's more but these will take you a long way. Place these .dlls into the "components" directory located in your foobar main folder.
Now that we've got the components complete, it's time to assemble the actual layout of your foobar2000 interface. First, right-click on each component in your interface (playlist, buttons, etc. and remove them all). Then, access "Preferences" from the menu. Under Display->Columns UI, click the "Layout" tab and start adding components into the layout. You can play around with this to achieve the best layout. Start by adding "Horizontal/Vertical Splitters". Think of these splitters as containers holding the other components. After, add components such as the playlist, track bar, volume control, etc. to these splitters. Just play around and you'll figure out what I mean. You'll probably screw up quite a bit at first, but you'll learn.
After you've achieved your layout of choice, close the Preferences window and right-click on each of the components in your foobar interface to access their individual properties. You can turn off the title, change the type of border (sunken, borderless, etc.), and a wide variety of component-specific properties. Drag/resize components to fit your needs.
Finally, it's time to put columns_ui to work by spicing up your playlist. What you'll need is a .fcs file. A .fcs file defines what the playlist will look like. Where do you get these files? On the internet (lol)...more specifically, try here: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=43077 . In that thread, people post a lot of .fcs files for you to download as you scour the thread. Once you've gotten the .fcs file, go back to the Preferences window, then Display->Columns UI, click on "Main" tab and click the "import" button. Select the .fcs file and that's it, your playlist is done.
Well, the rest is up to you to play around with. Scour through everything in your Preferences window and tinker with everything until you get it right. Good luck.

It has been translated between 1 and 5 a.m, so a lot of mistakes should remain.
And I translated it quite quickly, so it may be quite "raw". But as I'm leaving tomorrow for Normandy, I won't be able to upload my work for about a fortnight.
To switch between the two languages, you just have to use the menu
I also made some graphic changes: the logo of my website is new, all icons have been modified, the warning picture too, as was the "0.9 new". There also is a new icone above the menu on the left.
